No viewer enjoys looking up the nostrils of a talent being interviewed - the drawback of using Teams, Zoom or other enterprise video conferencing platforms for LIVE TV. Added to this – the unreliability of the 3rd party apps and their ability to deliver seamless LIVE content to your control room or broadcasting platform.
APMG can provide a complete in-field LIVE TV capability for your newsroom or programming – supported by a cutting-edge teleport. This includes interruptible fold back (IFB) connectivity between the field and studio, and a LIVE HD signal from the field with very low latency (depending on cellular coverage) – supported by the ability of the teleport (Sydney Teleport Services [STS]) to share the signal across multiple broadcast platforms -- including web and social media networks -- simultaneously.
Don’t compromise important coverage with a poorly placed, badly lit laptop camera, bad audio and flaky streaming. Do your viewers -- who have most likely invested in a good TV screen -- a favour and provide them with clear, professional and well-produced LIVE interviews delivered by a proper TV crew.
STS and APMG have provided close to 100 live crosses to TV programming since 2020. This has allowed breakfast programming, evening news, current affairs programs, and broadcasters overseas to connect with talent in the field – delivered by a professional crew, ‘front’ and ‘back of house’.
When ABC's flagship 7:30 program needed to do a LIVE cross from the Central West after hours, APMG was engaged to field produce and deliver content. Establishing a location, lighting it, setting up field audio and talk-back communications on the ground was handled by APMG. Getting the signal back to ABC's studio was handled by Sydney Teleport Services via the DVN.
National breakfast programming is an area of LIVE TV that APMG can assist with. APMG has worked in a variety of unique locations to deliver breakfast TV, including broadcasting a LIVE segment from Taronga Western Plains Zoo's giraffe platform discussing regional tourism with the zoo's director - watched on by a 'tower' of giraffes.
Not all emergencies happen in close proximity to where media resources are located. During the significant flooding events experienced throughout NSW in 2025, APMG has worked closely with lead emergency services and the media to ensure timely, accurate and LIVE updates reach newsrooms and communites.
